Silver State Artist members paint together the second Saturday each month at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 6670 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89108, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Church doors open at 9:30 a.m. Below is an outline of what you can expect.
- Announcements – Our president, board members and committee chairs start at 10 a.m. with announcements.
- Time to paint – After announcements, we paint. Check out our projects calendar for a preview of what we’re painting each month. Projects are taught by SSA members or by contracted artists. Learn more about SSA teachers here.
- Drawings – SSA members donate gift baskets each month that are raffled off during our Saturday gatherings. Drawings tickets are inexpensive and donated gift baskets are a great way for chapter members to win painting supplies!
- Opportunity to meet new artistic friends – Members regularly bring friends to try a class and see how meetings are run. Anybody interested in joining SSA may attend one meeting and paint with us before deciding if they want to join.
- Opportunity to sign up for classes – Once you sign up and pay for a class, you will receive instructions the month before the class in question. For example, you pay in June for July. In June you receive the instructions and (for a small fee) the suggested surface to paint on for the project, or you may use any surface you want.
- Snacks & Lunch break – SSA members sign up in advance to supply snacks for members to enjoy throughout the day. We also break for lunch. You may bring your own lunch or enjoy one of the local eateries near Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.
- We Continue Painting – After breaking for lunch, we continue painting until 4 p.m.
