SSA members paint together the second Saturday each month at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church at 6670 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89108. The meetings start at 10 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. The church doors open at 9:30 a.m. so you can set up your painting station in plenty of time before the 10 a.m. start time. Depending on the month, our Saturday meeting will be either a paint-in or a workshop.
Paint-Ins
SSA has four business meetings per year (second Saturday in January, April, August, and October). On the same Saturday as a business meeting, we have a 5-hour paint-in that usually starts at 11 a.m. The cost for a paint-in is $15, non-refundable, plus the cost of the surface (wood, cloth, etc.) for the project, if provided. You can always paint on any surface of your choosing. Bring something from your stash at home if you feel it will make an appropriate surface for the painting or use your sketch book.
All paint-ins must be prepaid at least one month in advance. For example, if you plan to participate in an April paint-in, you would pay for the class at the SDA March meeting. At the March meeting, you would receive the surface to paint on (if you choose to paint on the SSA suggested surface) and preparation instructions, including paint colors and other supplies you’ll need for the project.

Workshops
On the remaining Saturdays of the month, we host 6-hour workshops. These projects are generally more elaborate than a paint-in project. The cost for a workshop is $20, non-refundable plus the cost of the surface for the project. Of course, you can always bring something from home to paint on if you feel it would make a more appropriate surface for the painting.
All workshops must be prepaid at least one month in advance. For example, if you plan to participate in an May workshop, you would pay for the class at the SSA April meeting. At the April meeting, you would receive the surface to paint on (if you choose to paint on the SSA suggested surface) and preparation instructions, including a list of paint colors and any other supplies you’ll need for the project. Occasionally there will be a separate pattern fee.
